Dear Sato-kun:
C. H. Lee -
10/19/01
I am sorry to tell you that I will be
unable to attend the upcoming class reunion. But I would like to take this
opportunity to say a few words to my classmates.
Hello mina-san genki-des-ka, Lee
here. I am still doing part-time consulting work in Taiwan. I think I am
healthy and happy. This past Spring and Summer I spent 3 months working in
Taiwan. I did not play as much golf, only in May, June, and July. So, my
golf game did not improve much. I am still in the 100-110 range. My goal,
however, is to get below 100 by next Summer. I think it is a reasonable
goal. Hope that I can achieve that goal.
I was visiting Geilin, China, a famous
city with scenic mountains and waters, when the WTC terror attacks occurred.
After going back to Taipei, I found myself strained in Taipei. Many flights
to the US were cancelled and there was a big flood occurred in Taipei areas.
These events caused me to delay my trip to go back home. Finally I came back
home safely on October 5. But, we now are under a new round of attack, it is
a bio-attack, i.e. Anthrax attack. So we have to be careful taking good care
of ourselves. All the sudden, America has become a not-so-safe place to
live. It is hard to believe.
Last week, we were watching our
Cleveland Indians playing in the Divisional Series against Seattle Mariners.
Our team, the Indians, had chances to eliminate Seattle earlier, but
unfortunately we got eliminated by the Mariners in the end and the main
reasons are Ichiro Suzuki and Kazuhiro Sasaki. These two players played a key
role in the defeat of Cleveland Indians by Seattle Mariners.
Ayu-chan and I did not play golf
together this year, because we both had busy schedule. Since Winter is around
the corner, we have to wait until next Spring. By then hopefully the
conflicts and the war against the terror will be over and the world will be
peace again.
Hoping that all of you will have a
happy and prosperous holiday season.
