C. H. Lee
Dear Saishu-kai friends:
I was sightseeing in Guilin, China when the terrible incidents occurred. I learned from TV, in a hotel room, about 1 hour after the attack started. At first I thought it was a fiction movie and could not believe that it was a real terrorist's attack. I was really stunned.
Because I was in China, I got very little information and most information I got was from TV only. All I know up to this point is that the casualty is huge and the incidents have stunned and shocked the Americans and the whole world. The attack may affect the short-term American economy that may indirectly affect world economy as well. But, it should not affect the long-term stability of American economy. I believe America is determined to fight back, more than ever, as the whole nation has rallied behind the Bush Administration.
I am back to Taipei from China this afternoon and plan to go back to Cleveland this Sunday. But now I find myself stranded in Taipei. I do not know when I can leave here, as most of the flights to the US have been indefinitely cancelled. I have been in Taipei since early August to fulfill my consulting duty.
I will talk to you some other time. Bye.
